Ladies in Red | #LittlewoodsLFW

With London Fashion Week kicking off 15 September, runway talk will be #trending everywhere. To celebrate, Littlewoods’ keenest style mavens and most die-hard fashionistas will be updating our blog every day to bring you the lowdown on autumn’s must-own looks. It must be said, we love what we do – making runway trends accessible to our customers with an incredible range of fashion, footwear and accessories for all budgets. So with that in mind, let’s get started!

It started at New York Fashion Week, then Milan confirmed it: red is the colour for autumn/winter 2017. The Instagrammers among you may recall Kendall Jenner in an incredible red coat at the Fendi show in Milan, or Victoria Beckham’s feminine ruched dresses in New York. Bold, vibrant, and yes – powerful – red is all the rage this season. Time to get that look for yourself, ladies!

First up, we’ve got the red ruched blazer from River Island. Not only does it bring the red in a big way, it also incorporates some of this season’s fave embellishments, with ruching at the sleeve and a bow detail. That said, it’s a gloriously clean and graphic look, amazing with a cropped black trouser and high-heeled strappy sandals. For a more casual, outdoorsy vibe, there’s a gorgeous (and so warm!) down jacket from Hilfiger Denim, guaranteed to ward off the chill in high style.

For red-hot separates, we’re loving River Island’s long-sleeve crop top blouse. The super-flattering wrap style is accentuated by a silver ring at the waist and a full-sleeve: it’s an absolute stunner. Don’t care to go so bare? Then have a look at this pleated top in red, also from River Island, with a v-neck and ruched sleeves and loads of feminine detailing. This would be a great choice for work but will also dress up your best jea

ns for a night out. And speaking of nights out, meet the new occasion-wear: the dramatically flared trouser. Think 70s disco, combined with some Katherine Hepburn Hollywood Golden Age glamour, and voilà – Lost Ink’s Popper Side Trouser.

And finally, we just had to show you some accessories. Not everyone will be feeling the bold red look in clothing, but bags and shoes are a great way to add a pop of this season’s power colour to your autumn wardrobe. Karen Millen’s sleek Brompton clutch in red patent takes you seamlessly from day to night with elegant minimalism, while Ted Baker brings his signature style to a zip-around purse that stores all your bits and bobs in a chic little package. And for the rebel in you, it’s the classic Converse Chuck Taylor Hi-Top in vintage red. True, they’re a time-honoured favourite but they also happen to be very on trend right now… and very red.

See you back here tomorrow for our next #LittlewoodsLFW London Fashion Week trend update!
