World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a chance to celebrate authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) reading. This is the 18th year there’s been a World Book Day, and on 5th March children of all ages will come together to appreciate reading. They don’t have to be reading something insanely difficult or advanced for their age – any book will do, so long as they enjoy it.
At Littlewoods, we’ve got a number of children’s books which could be read on the big day. There’s My Mummy is Magic – Hardback: “I think my mummy’s MAGIC – I notice every day… That whenever MAGIC happens, Mummy’s never far away!” Or how about the Personalised Princess and The Mysterious Noise Book? Your little princess takes on the leading role in this story in which a princess and her toy animals investigate mysterious groaning noises in her hilltop castle.
There’s also The Dinosaur That Pooped The Past – Tom Fletcher & Dougie Poynter (Paperback), written by two of the lads from McFly, and Peppa Pig: The Big Tale of Little Peppa Book (Hardback) which will become a firm favourite for many little ones.
Or opt for Awful Auntie – David Walliams (Hardback) – David’s novels are bestsellers, so your kids will definitely enjoy this next instalment! If your young’uns are big One Direction fans, then the One Direction Official Autobiography (Hardback) is a great way to get them reading too.
Are we talking about teeny tots? The Personalised Nursery Rhyme Book is delightful. Printed on luxury paper in a choice of paperback and hardback, this book is a beautiful way for your little one to discover traditional nursery rhymes. The book can be personalised with their first name (up to 12 characters), which is subtly included in all of the colourful illustrations – see if they can find them all! The front cover and title page also feature their name.
