Just as this season’s catwalks have been covered in bold, bright shades, whether that’s neon hues or something a little more luxurious like jewel tones, one of the key home decorating trends for 2012 is block colours in key hues of red, blue, green, pink and yellow. At Littlewoods, we’ve put together a collection of suitably bright and beautiful home decorating accessories in this season’s hottest colours so you can revamp your house with some vivid touches!

One of our favourite colours for summer is green. Often associated with classic, traditional houses and a dark, olive green, this shade can also look very fresh and bright, and can be combined with a number of other colours to create contemporary, modern, retro and vintage looks.

The key to using just one main colour in your home revamp is to keep plenty of interesting textures involved and keep the look ‘three-dimensional’. Bold pattern and texture choices can help introduce other colours into your decorating scheme, like the rich Portobello Woven Jacquard Eyelet Curtains and matching Hamilton Embellished Cushion Covers (pair). Brown and dark green is a traditional, cosy combination; for something a little more modern try matching tones of grass, olive and bottle green – like those in the Montreal Cushions (2 pack) – and the quirky Hudson Supreme Shaggy Rug that reminds us of a lush patch of grass!

Modern shapes and pops of colour help to give any room a really punchy, unique look. Despite these being children’s furniture, we really like the Kidspace Key L-shape Storage Units (2 pack) in bright, lime green – pair with vintage white glass and ceramics for an individual look. White and green make a pretty combination (in every shade, too) and reflect all the newness of spring, like in the White Blossom Split Canvas.

For bedrooms, simply-patterned bed linen is ideal, as it can be mixed and matched with other, co-ordinating colours. The Panel Print Duvet Cover Set in a trio of green shades looks equally as good with plain sheets or white pillowcases as it does in its matching set. For kitchens, accessories in bright green shades work with neutral coloured walls and surfaces, plus they’re sure to brighten up your cooking! The Viners Oakham 5-Piece Pan Set comes in a zesty lime green and co-ordinates perfectly with other items in our collection, like the Simplicity Storage Canisters (3-piece set).

Add a little colour to your life, and your home, this season with our brilliant range of coloured home decorating accessories.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something.
I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this
is excellent blog. A great read. I will certainly
    be back.
