Keep the kids trendy this Christmas!

Just like us grown-ups, kids love being trendy and fashionable, and these days they’re even more switched on to the coolest looks than ever before. At Littlewoods, we love our kids to look their best and have come up with some key trends for the young ones this season.

Fashionable girls party dresses for Christmas

First up for the girls we’ve got the glamorous Sparkle and Glitz for those girls who love party dresses (and parties!). This trend is all about different textures, trendy silhouettes and gorgeous, girly prints and materials. One of our top picks of this trend is the freespirit Hitched Hem Bow Dress in a stunning metallic blue with bow detail and ruffled, princess-style skirt. It’s a real dramatic dress that the little princesses will love! For a modern look, try the freespirit Leopard Print Lantern Dress with its on trend print and beautiful structured silhouette. Our final pick is the freespirit Sequin Bubble Dress in black – with a sparkling sequinned bodice and fashionable bubble hem, this is a great party dress for girls who love to be on trend and love a bit of glitter (and what little girl doesn’t love a bit of glitter!)

Funky tshirts and black jeans create a great look

For boys, we’ve got the cool, grungy Urban Skater look. Don’t worry – this look is more about relaxed shapes and hard-wearing fabrics than scraped knees! Go for a pair of jeans with a modern twist, like these Demo Drop Crotch Skinny Biker Fit Jeans with stitched details, and team with a cool printed tshirt, like the Demo Kick-flip T-shirt. Denim is a great choice for jeans and shirts, as it can be dressed up and down: we love this Levi’s Denim Hooded Shirt for a casual but funky look for boys.

Girls party clothes are brought up to date with cool prints

Another of our trends for girls is the traditional Pretty in Pink, but this season give it a modern twist with plenty of fun prints, as well as combining it with darker, neutral colours. Very little girls will love our Ladybird Dress and Knicker Set in navy with pink bow details and adorable bird print: a quirky way to take on the pink trend. For relaxed but cute style, try out Ladybird Lurex Knitted Dress in red and pink stripes with a touch of glitter, which would look perfect paired with matching leggings. Older girls will definitely want to wear our grown up take on the pink trend with the freespirit Floral Prom Dress: a classic prom style silhouette with pink and lilac flowers and black trim. A gorgeously grown up dress, this won’t look out of place at Christmas parties or school discos.

Stylish jeans and shirts make this a super-trendy look

In contrast to Urban Skater, our second trend for boys is perfect for those lads who are already fashion-conscious and love looking their best: Preppy Cool. Combining classic materials and silhouettes with a distinct mod vibe, this look has a retro twist too! The Levi’s Turn Up Jeans are perfect for this look: traditional but still very cool with their turn ups and dark washed denim. A checked shirt is essential, but go for something a bit different with the Ladybird Bib Detail Check Shirt in blue and white check with a granddad collar. The final touch is a smart cardigan, like the Fred Perry Tipped Cardigan featuring a contrast striped button band. Ideal for parties and family get-togethers, the Preppy Cool look is a sophisticated look for young chaps.

With these fashionable trends from Littlewoods, the kids are sure to look great this season, whether it’s sparkling, preppy, skater or pretty in pink!
