There are two things in life that most women just can’t resist. Ok maybe more than two if we factor in chocolate and wine, but we were thinking more along the lines of shoes and handbags. And after seeing the new designer bag drop at Littlewoods recently, all we’re thinking about right now is bags.
One brand in particular who have shot straight to the top of our must-have list, is Guess, and it’s mainly thanks to these two beauties that have just come online. Both real investment bags but with a nod to current trends, satchel-style and snake skin are key for Autumn Winter 2011. This Groovy satchel has a really luxurious look with the quilting and leather trims, it’s the ultimate tote bag for this Autumn and every Autumn for years to come, we love the bag almost as much as we love it’s name!
The Guess Fallon Carry All combines different textures, including that all important snake skin effect, and adds a splash of colour to make this one of the most stylish bags we’ve seen so far this season (it’s the one in the little image at the top!). Unfortunately we’ll have to wait a few weeks as it’s not available to buy until later this month, but that’s what wish lists are for!
Other favourites in the new season crop are French Connection, who have not only expanded their clothing range with Littlewoods but have excelled themselves with a few stunning bags. Our two favourites are the super-chic Dorris bag which uses a simple shape, classic black colour and croc-effect texture to make this the black bag of 2011. Sticking to the classic style that we’ve come to know and love from this brand, the Sneaky clutch bag is as elegant as they come, thanks to the neat envelope style and touches of gold detailing. Gorgeous.
We could go on all day, but we’ll leave you with one final favourite from Ted Baker. This Ficus bag is super shiny and is a real statement as far as black cross-body bags go. The best bit is that you can also get the tote bag and clutch in the same effect, so if you love it as much as we do you can have a whole collection!
So if you put your hand bag obsession on hold while you concentrated on bikinis and holiday wear, now is the time to turn your attention back to bags as you wouldn’t want to miss out on any of this!
