As every mother or mum-to-be will know, finding stylish clothes to fit during pregnancy can be a challenge. Just because we temporarily lose our waistline, doesn’t mean we also lose our sense of style, and if ever there was a time we want clothes to make us feel good about ourselves, it’s during those nine months.
It doesn’t always help when magazines are filled with photos of celebrity mums-to-be looking cool, relaxed and, of course, stylish in their maternity wear, but when we saw this photo of heavily pregnant Selma Blair in her summer-perfect maxi dress, we got a tiny bit excited as we knew we could get a similar look without too much trouble, thanks to maternity super-brand, Mamas and Papas.
This pink feather print maxi dress is everything we need for a summer pregnancy; the loose and lightweight fabric will keep us cool and comfortable during the warmer weather, while the adjustable straps means it can change size at the same time as we do! And not to mention the bright colour and simple shape which make this an effortlessly stylish look.
Another maxi option that will do the job during summer is this paisley print number. Again, this light, loose fabric and adjustable back ties are key to seeing you through your pregnancy, while the cool navy colour and delicate paisley print and pleat details keep it looking chic and on trend.
Our third pick of dresses is this pretty floral number. The floral trend is no longer confined to the Spring months, it just gets brighter and bolder for summer, then gets slightly more subtle with richer colours and darker shades for the colder weather. The print on this dress is somewhere in between; the subdued shades and delicate rose print give it a slight vintage feel which is perfect for the summer time, but would also not look at all out of place during Autumn. The shorter length of this dress will keep you cool in the warm weather and the draping fabric and pleat details will flatter your curves and fall nicely over your expanding bump!
So, Mamas & Papas have got the summer wardrobe covered, but what about when you want to get out and about with your baby to enjoy the good weather? This Sola pushchair is available in a few designs but we just love this denim version. With a seat that can face both ways, and a stylish stripe design on the hood and straps, it’s a lovely pushchair for strolling with your little one.
For going further afield, the Mylo travel system is a new top of the range set for getting around with your child, while this Truffle version of the popular Aton car seat will help you safely get your little one from A to B.
