Get Kate’s Royal style

It’s the month of the big Royal Wedding, and after months of speculation we’ll finally get to see what the bride to be will be wearing (or should we say who she will be wearing) for her big day.  But that won’t be the end of the focus on Kate’s style choices, as she has become the nation’s latest fashion obsession since she wore that blue Issa dress to announce her engagement, and we just can’t get enough of her classic understated style.

From her perfectly blow dried hair down to her just about sensible but still fabulous heels, Kate has the modern princess look down to a T, basing her outfits on some key pieces that underpin her simple yet chic style. It’s this rule that makes it easy to get Kate’s look, by focusing on one statement item and underplaying the accessories, unless it’s the ring of course!

Kate always stuns the crown in a gorgeous dress, whether it’s for a day out or a special occasion, so get the look with a form-fitting dress in a bold colour, such as this cobalt blue Nougat jersey dress, which is the perfect number to emulate Kate’s most iconic look to date. A pretty monochrome shift dress paired with opaque tights and black court shoes is a key look from Kate’s daytime wardrobe and this Yumi Coco dress fits the bill perfectly, pairing the simple shape and colours with a crochet texture and vintage-style buttons.

Kate’s recent outing on Pancake Day caused a fashion stir, all thanks to a cream trench coat. Again paired with black tights and heels, the classic coat did all the talking and had us all pulling our trenches out of the wardrobe or putting it to the top of our wish list for the new season. Perfect for the changeable Spring weather, a trench is the one style of coat that never goes out of fashion and is sure to become your go-to coat for the new few years at least. This cream Holly Willoughby trench is fit for a princess, with belted detail to the waist and cuffs, shoulder pads for a more structured shape and full lining for a luxury finish.

With the wedding season on its way and numerous racing events on the Spring calendar, everyone’s looking for a sophisticated style with a touch of glamour for those special occasions. This is a look that we regularly see Kate sporting due to the amount of friend’s weddings and special events she has attended in recent years. As usual the outfit is always based around a dress or a feminine skirt and smart blazer, and Kate’s accessory of choice at these events is usually a beautiful fascinator. Get the look by matching your head wear to a colour in your outfit, or use a contrasting colour that can be picked out in your other accessories for a modern take on a formal look.

So Kate clearly has her style perfected, and lucky for us it’s one that is easily achieved just by following some simple style rules. Now we just can’t wait to see the wedding dress!
