Valentine’s Day is the one time of year where you can indulge in some gorgeous new lingerie as a special treat for you – and for him! So, here’s a quick guide to adding some va-va-voom to your Valentine’s Day in the bedroom department, and luckily it won’t break the bank either!
Red is symbolic for Valentine’s Day – embodying passion, romance and love – so it’s a great choice for the most romantic day of the year. Play it safe (but still sexy) with this pretty and flirty Oh La La bra and sheer shorts set, in a sumptuous red and black – the padding will give you some added ‘oomph’ and the sheer shorts reveal just enough without being overtly sexy. If you’d rather cover up a bit more then why not go for the delicate Oh La La babydoll instead?
If red is a bit too much boudoir chic for your liking and you want something that’s pretty and a bit softer, then pink is also a great colour choice for Valentine’s Day – there’s no reason that pink can’t be sexy though and this Dreamgirls corset, thong and stocking set adds a hint of old school glamour and romance which will most definitely make an impression on anyone lucky enough to see it!
Black is an amazingly forgiving colour but just like your LBD hiding in the wardrobe, black doesn’t necessarily mean boring and with the right style of underwear you’ll definitely be able to knock his socks off!
This super sexy black and nude lace combination from Gossard will give you an added ‘superboost’ as well as being feminine, flirty and just a little bit naughty.
Or why not channel some 1940s glamour for something a little bit different? Sometimes less really isn’t more so we think that this longline bra from Gossard is perfect for ramping up the ‘ooh la la’ scale. It’ll certainly be a surprise from the norm and we defy any man to not notice you in this!
Thong, brief or shorts?
The other thing to consider for Valentine’s Day is the great underwear debate: What’s best – a thong, brief or shorts?
Well there are advantages to each – a thong reveals more and isn’t probably something you’d wear every day but it’s not for everyone as they are very unforgiving if you have lumps and bumps you’d rather hide!
Briefs are much more forgiving but for the dreaded V-Day make sure it’s lacy or made with silky, sumptuous materials rather than your average pair. It’s also worth noting that a hi-leg pair will make your legs look longer and your hips smaller.
Shorts sometimes scare people off because they are so often referred to as ‘boy-shorts’ but that doesn’t mean they have to be boyish! A sheer pair or a pair with embroidery or lace detailing are subtly sexy, rather than having the in-your-face appeal of a thong.
