An interactive Christmas – Top gifts for pre-schoolers

Kids love to play and pretty much as soon as they can get their hands on things, they’ll be learning how to use it and you’d be hard pressed to find a child who doesn’t love toys and games! For parents the rise in interactive and educational toys for children can only be a good thing so this Christmas why not give the gift of fun and learning with our top interactive toys for your little ones?

Sometimes keeping things simple is best and toddlers love toys that stack and fit together – try out this colourful giraffe stacker with noisy rings, including a rattle, squeaker and jingle, or try a classic shape sorter like this Ladybird one on wheels– perfect for kids on the move – and you’ll definitely hear them coming with a variety of rattles, beads and spinners.

As well as learning how to use things, kids really love music and light – well, who doesn’t? Help them learn their ABC and 123 with this cute Peppa Pig phonics toy which will help them learn letters, sounds, spelling, numbers and colours – perfect for pre-schoolers who will be starting school in the near future.

For younger tots who are just getting on the move – the inventive baby walker is a must-have toy. As well as supporting their sometimes wobbly steps, it’s packed full of this to push, pull and spin and has lots of music, sounds and flashing lights to entertain kids with even the shortest of attention spans!

If you’d rather keep the toys in one place then this Explore and Play Table from In the Night Garden is a great pick for youngsters who like to have their bedtime hour with Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and the Tombliboos. Fire up their imaginations with this interactive table, which features familiar characters, bright colours and, of course, music, lights and interactive buttons and books that little ones will love playing with and will keep them entertained day after day.

After all that excitement, they’ll need a nice relaxing bath and story before bedtime. Soothe them to sleep with the help of some fuzzy friends like this Fisher Price seahorse, who plays soothing lullabies for 5 minutes and also emits a soft glow when cuddled, or let your little one snuggle up with Timmy who will go to sleep too – hear him gently snore as he dozes off!

My little on would have loved the Peppa phonics toy. Probably a little old for this now. We recently spent a day at Peppa Pig World. Well worth a peak if your kids are Peppa fanatics like mine.
