Some of our favourite spring/summer fashion trends for 2012 have involved beautiful bright colours, whether it’s sorbet-coloured pastels or hot, bold colour blocking pieces. Monochrome

This South Stripe Belted Mac is far and away one of our favourites, we love the monochrome stripes, the black pocket and cuff detail and the neat waist-cinching belt. It’s a classic reinvented with some 60s style, and monochrome is one of those trends that will forever be in style.

Colours

This South Pleat Skirt mac is really pretty thanks to the peter pan collar and the pleat detail to the back. We love this cute blue shade but it also comes in pink or black, unusual shades for a mac we think (well the blue and pink are anyway) but that’s exactly why we love it.

Prints

Probably the most glam mac we’ve ever seen, this Savoir Tipped mac does come in a plain stone shade with black edging, but it’s the animal print version we love. It’s a bold print on a classic shape, and teamed with simple jeans and muted colours it’s a real statement piece. We can’t remember the last time animal print wasn’t in fashion, so it’s a definite keeper!

Short and sweet

We typically think of macs being belted and thigh length, but this shower resistant double breasted one from Savoir proves macs can be any length you want them to be, and if you’re not into the whole belted thing a double breasted version keeps it neat and figure flattering. Or if you want something more relaxed and a bit fashion-forward, this South Swing mac is short and on the baggy side, but means it’s perfect for getting that ‘thrown together’ look just spot on.

With spring officially just around the corner (if we could just get over this freezing cold weather) you might be thinking of a wardrobe revamp, injecting some bright colours and new shapes into your wardrobe. One of the hottest trends for this season’s denim is bright colours and fantastic prints. Coleen believes a lightweight coat is a must-have when the weather starts warming up, which is why the ruffle trench coat is her first key piece.
