The film awards season in the States is coming to an end but, as always, the biggest and best is left until last. The Academy Awards turn 89 this month, but Oscar is showing no signs of slowing down and it’s going to be the fabulously swanky ‘do we’ve all come to expect, full of glitz and glamour. Of course it’s about celebrating the year’s achievements in film but, let’s be honest, we’re all just looking at what everyone is wearing, aren’t we? The ceremony has become a major fashion event so, if you’re heading out somewhere fancy this weekend, planning your own Oscars party or even just kicking back in front of the telly to watch the event with a glass of Prosecco in hand, we think that’s enough of an excuse to treat yourself to a gorgeous new frock and have a red carpet moment of your very own.
Monochome and floral designs are amongst the hottest new looks this season and you can expect to see lots of black and white against the red carpet in downtown LA on Oscar night. Check out this effortlessly chic and floaty Hilly Dress from Coast which, with its semi-sheer draped hem skirt, exudes carefree charm along with some serious show-stopping style. Pair up with heels and a clutch bag and you’re all ready for your close up.
Necklines are set to make a big statement and this Bandeau Dress by Rare is certainly keeping things provocative with a strapless, cinched-in bodice which is both classic and daring! When you’re wearing something this eye catching, all you need is a winning smile and you’re good to go.
We are big fans of Myleene Klass’s designs so we just had to include this stunning Pencil Dress from her range. Staying with the monochrome palette, this outfit means business with its bold asymmetric hem and cute nipped-in waist. This is a grown-up dress with timeless appeal. Or how about showing off your curves with Miss Selfridge’s Kim Bodycon Dress which, with its sexy, sheer overlay and plunging neckline, will set you apart from the crowd and drive the paparazzi crazy!
We’re getting floral and flirty now with this pretty little shift dress from Little Mistress – the clever cut means that there’s lots of movement and the knee skimming length will show off your pins to perfection. French Connection have joined the floral dance too, with this divine lacy number. These dresses throw forward to the longer, warmer days to come, which is something we can all get behind! But, in the meantime, no matter which outfit you go for from our collection, one thing’s for certain – you’ll be taking home the award for Best Dressed Beauty.
