Declutter, get rid of anything unwanted. Maybe trying selling it to get some extra cash or donate to charity. Decluttering the house clears you mind and you feel more refreshed and relaxed. I find I sleep so much better knowing there not 110 jobs to do around the house!.

We get our home ready for summer by changing all our thick curtains with orange thin fabric, move our l shaped sofa into a corner to give more space next to the patio door and we have recently invested in some bright orange rugs to brighten up the place. 🙂

I have a winter and summer set of curtains and cushions for the lounge, so as soon as I’m feeling summery I take down my red curtains and hang my light green ones up along with the varying green cushions. It really brightens the room and gives us all a much needed lift.

Wash down every corner, nook and cranny – just to make sure there are no ‘nasties’ waiting to hatch as soon as it gets hot. Replace all duvets with lower tog rated ones and lastly, buy fine net curtains which, if fitted close to the window, will allow air in on a warm night, but should act as a barrier to keep midges out.

Damp dust the whole house (including the bed) with warm water and lemon juice to clean out the winter grime and leave a nice fresh smell to introduce summer!
