Flip A Winner

Shrove Tuesday is fast approaching and you know what that means… pancakes! January and February seem pretty bleak to most people, but when there are crepes on the horizon, things start to look a little better. Not only do you get to eat something truly tasty, but the whole pancake-making experience is really fun and is a great activity to involve the kids with. To make sure you get perfect pancakes every time, pick a frying pan that does the job right.

We’ve got the wonderfully tailored Sabichi 24cm Pancake Pan. It has a shallow body especially designed for pancakes and crepes as it allows for easy flipping. The pan comes with a recipe printed on the bottom of the pan too, so you’ll know exactly what you’re doing. There’s also the impressive Morphy Richards 28cm Forged Frying Pan – made from heavy gauge forged aluminium, it features an impact bonded steel base, providing fantastic heat distribution and eliminating hot spots to reduce the chances of burning. What’s more, the exterior flaunts a high-temperature-resistant coating to keep it looking great.

For something smaller, there’s always the Tefal Initiative 20cm Frying Pan; it has nine layers of non-stick material that not only lasts twice as long as other non-stick finishes but is also metal utensil-safe. Other options include the Tefal 2-Piece Frying Pan Set, so you can be cooking two lots of pancakes at once – great for big families! Alternatively, you may prefer American-style pancakes so a Tefal One Egg Wonder Pan Mini Frying Pan is best for you – you can make lots of small, thick pancakes one after the after to create a delicious (and even) stack.

Another tool you’ll need is a spatula, and we highly recommend the RAYMOND BLANC Acacia Wood Spatula – isn’t it fantastic?
