WIN over £500 worth of power tools!

WIN over £500 worth of power tools!

We all love the outdoors at this time of year (weather permitting of course) and right now, we’re encouraging everyone to makeover their garden with us to give you lovely new, spruced up outdoor space that you and family will enjoy making the most of when the sun comes out.

Maybe a good old clean of the patio will really make a difference, in which case Karcher has everything you need to bring out the best with 35 times more power compared to a standard garden hose, and only using half the amount of water – amazing!

A freshly cut lawn is a must when it comes to garden makeovers, and if you have a large space or a real challenge on your hands, McCulloch are the brand to look for with their petrol mowers, strimmers and vacs for getting rid of those fallen leaves.

Or maybe it will take a mow of the lawn and a spot of DIY to really make a difference and create a whole new space – and for this we’d recommend you look no further than DIY favourite, Black & Decker who have everything from strimmers to cordless drills. Think of the changes you could make if you had the right tools to do it!

Of course once the hard labour’s done (it’s not too hard, don’t let us put you off) it’s time to relax on your new garden furniture, enjoying a BBQ and admiring all of your handy work. Bliss!

And to get the ball rolling, our friends at Karcher, Black & Decker and McCulloch have given us a bundle of power tools worth over £500! So whether you want to start, renew or add to your tool kit, just read the important info below then leave us a comment telling us what your dream house and garden makeover would include?

Would there be a freshly cut lawn and the family surrounding a chimenea, or maybe a new fence to give you that privacy you’ve always wanted is all you really want! Whatever it is, let us know and you could win this fab power tool prize!

A level garden would be amazing with some bushes that have taken over removed and the paving levelled out! A lovely garden furniture set and a new kitchen instead of 70s green!

My dream house and garden makeover would have colour, I’d love gorgeous flowers to brighten my day. I’d love comfortable garden patio furniture for those warm summer evenings relaxing with a glass of wine. And to top it all off a rustic style Chimnea would be a real treat in case it gets a bit chilly it can warm up my feet!

I would love a dog and children friendly garden ! That still looks nice after they have been outside! I would also love everything to be easily wiped down inside my house as i have 4 small children a dog and a cat who are very messy!

Me win please me me me me

  10. Posted by Christine Dodd on May 21, 2013

I’d have the back of my house opened up so that there was a wall of glass across the whole garden facing area. This would lead to a large patio and draw the eye into my beautiful garden. At the back of the garden would be an obelisk as a focal point. Although formal in design it would be wildlife friendly.

  11. Posted by David Bromfield on May 21, 2013

My dream house is in the country side, and located next to a canal for Sunday pub walks. The house doesn’t need to be particularly big but it has a great big garden, with a few good trees to climb, an open patch for ball games, and a fire pit for summer evenings. Perfect.

My dream dream house and garden maker over would include a gardener and a cleaner!

  13. Posted by mark lloyd on May 21, 2013

giant concrete penguins or more realistically a bit of a spruce up.

  14. Posted by toni quandt on May 21, 2013

My dream garden would have no need to tend plants and an immaculate lawn, with a small barbie area! My dream house would be decorated by a designer to a boutique style!

  15. Posted by Ellie Bromilow on May 21, 2013

oooh my Dream House and Garden would firstly have a ‘normal’ neighbour who i can talk to, the garden would have lots of room for our rabbits but lots of room for veggies and plants and would look tidy with well maintained hedges and lawns and lots of bee friendly flowers and not forgetting a nice patio to sit out on with a glass of wine and actually enjoy the view! Our home would be our dream home if only every job was finished inside it – it was all original 1970’s (even carpets) and we are working our way through it slowly but surely! In about another 9 years we reckon it will be our dream home then we can do more to the garden x

  16. Posted by Dawn Wilkinson on May 21, 2013

My dream garden makeover would include a softly trickling water feature and masses of cottage garden plants. Roses and clemetis trailing over arches and obelisks. Peaceful haven.

  17. Posted by Lisa Aldwinckle on May 21, 2013

A decking area for entertaining, lovely lawn for the kids to play on, oh and I’ve always wanted a picket fence!

i would cut down my old pear tree before the thing falls down. and i would in its place plant a couple of smaller trees

  20. Posted by Charley Foulds on May 21, 2013

my dream makeover would include a MASSIVE garden for my little ones to play with lots and lots of garden toys for the summer! my house makeover would include a massive garage and mini cinema with a swimming pool attached!

  21. Posted by Lisa Williams on May 21, 2013

my dream makeover would include a new bathroom and kitchen because mine are so shocking. I don’t want something fancy, just something that works. My kitchen has been in the house since before I was born and we have to lean on the oven to make sure the food inside actually cooks, and the avocado units are falling to pieces. The bathroom is pretty much the same its been the same as long as I can remember and is even the same avocado colour as the kitchen (it must of been a theme when the house was built)! The shower changes its mind as to whether you get a steady stream of water or a trickle akin to a leaky tap and you have to adjust the temp with a pair of pliers. It has got to the point now that to fix everything is such a big and expensive job that I really can’t see how we can get it done, so my dream improvements would be to fix these rooms up so they are not such an avocado nightmare 🙂

  22. Posted by Julie Raine on May 21, 2013

Lots of nice coloured paints for the house and lots of colourful plants for the garden.

  23. Posted by Michaela Williams on May 21, 2013

I’m dreaming of new fence in our garden, so I can come out in the morning in my pyjamas to enjoy cup of coffee. That would make great difference to us.

  24. Posted by N barker on May 21, 2013

Our house has been a bit of a ‘project’
But now the end is in sight
    Unfortunately the kitchen and garden
Are still a bit of a sight!

We would like to build some decking,
But it’s all a bit overgrown
We also want a garden office
But the asbestos shed must come down!

We need new turf, and then a mower
And too many other things to mention
But top of the list, if we could win this
Would be a new kitchen extension.!

A summerhouse at the end of a lush, green lawn edged with an abundance of pastel flowers. A patio with a sunken jacuzzi in a beautiful secluded, sunny area of the garden.

A swimming pool and a state of the art BBQ

  27. Posted by Lynne Durkin on May 21, 2013

Plenty needs doing inside the house, daughters are moving into their own bedrooms so there’s new beds to assemble and shelves to be put up.
Outside in the garden we need new garden furniture and some trellis putting up to give us some privacy. Given the right tools I’m sure we could do a fantastic job!

  28. Posted by Andy W on May 21, 2013

Has to be a huge adventure playground for the kids

  29. Posted by Clive Pulley on May 21, 2013

    Unfortunately, I can’t afford either.

  30. Posted by Angela sandhu on May 21, 2013

A Orangery and a Swimming Pool

  34. Posted by Emma Cella on May 21, 2013

My dream house wouldn’t actually be that practical. For one thing it would have loads of ‘air vents’ and secret passageways to go and hide in. It would also have a cinema, swimming pools and a lot of other stuff. I’m not sure where I’d want it though, probably not in britain
And my Garden I love an informal garden overflowing with flowers, arbors draped with vines, and stepping stone paths that curve out of view beckoning you to explore further.

  35. Posted by LynneH on May 21, 2013

I’d love a large flat lawn that was mainly grass instead of ours which is mainly moss and weeds!

  47. Posted by Adele Leek on May 21, 2013

My dream home improvements would be a new kitchen, in cream with a Belfast sink – as my old one has seen better days. We could also do with redecorating the sitting room and then well you would have to change the rug, cushions, pictures etc.Maybe sofa!
My garden could do with a nice new lawn as my son has been playing football on ours and now there are a few patches – then a new BBQ and a patio. 🙂
