So the rain’s setting in and you’re stuck on how to keep the kids happy this month? Fear not because Littlewoods is here to help. Our toy section is one to be reckoned with, playing host to arts and crafts, puzzles, musical instruments, soft toys and so much more for a variety of age groups.
Something that’s full of nostalgia for older kids but brilliantly fun for youngsters is the new Furby Party Rockers range. Smaller than original Furbys, these fun toys are so much more interactive than they used to be – you can pull on its tail, tickle its tummy, pet its head, as well as download a free app to translate Furbish.
You can’t go wrong with games that involve the whole family either. Go for a classic like Hasbro Jenga – it’s endless, easy fun. Instead, try out something new like the Beat the Parents board game. This game is aimed at children aged 6 years and over, and it has questions that can be answered by both you and the kids. The first person/team to cross the board with all the tokens wins! Just be sure to watch out for the wild cards that can send you sliding backwards or skipping ahead.
Other great ideas include coming up with loads of fun tasks and games to be completed in the next couple of weeks – get the kids involved by making them write out each task on our Crayola Dry Erase Board. There’s nothing like ticking something off a checklist is there? If there’s a big enough room in the house, you could have all sorts of fun with the Worlds Apart Generic Concertina Combo Tent too. With rain hammering down on the roof, you could pretend you’re on a real camping trip with ghost stories and (oven-made) toasted marshmallows. Kids love making dens so this is guaranteed to keep them occupied.
If your children are older and it’s just too horrible outside for them to meet up with friends, have you considered getting some Littlewoods musical instruments? We’ve got a great selection, which includes the Fender DG-60 Full Size Acoustic Guitar.
