The Welsh holiday that is St David’s Day is this Friday (1st March) and we think it’s time for everyone to celebrate. Traditions include famous parades, singing and dressing up as Saint David himself or in the country’s emblems from leeks to daffodils. We love the idea of sporting all things yellow in honour of the latter – will you get involved?
Here at Littlewoods we, of course, have a great range of yellow products for you to choose from whether you’re celebrating St.David’s day or just love yellow. Let’s start with us ladies. Pop on the Jameela Jamil Scuba Skater Dress and you’ll be sorted – this flattering yellow dress screams confidence. If you’d prefer to wear yellow in small doses, how about the Ravel Peeptoe Platform Court Shoes? They’re a pair of beautiful yellow snakeskin heels with a block of pink suede too for added femininity. Or there’s the Demi Neon Collar; perfect if you like to embrace colour with accessories.
If you really want to go all-out with the daffodil theme then have a play with some nail art. Draw the pretty flower with some Barry M Nail Paint – Lemon Ice Cream against a green or black backdrop perhaps. Or just sport full-on yellow nails for a more achievable look.
Yellow’s a great colour for guys too. Not only is it ideal for Friday but the bright shade was prominent for autumn/winter 2012-13 with the likes of Lanvin, Paul Smith and Raf Simons. Embrace it simply with the Lacoste Mens Plain Polo Shirt – great for making a statement – or incorporate it into your fitness regime with a pair of Nike Air Max 90 Premium Mens Trainers – Yellow.
You don’t just have to wear the colour either. How about making yourself a cuppa on Friday with the Kenwood SJM048 Boutique Kettle – Yellow? This sleek, modern design is extremely covetable. You can also enjoy your favourite music with an Apple iPod Nano 16Gb – Yellow – far better than the basic black one, no?
If yellow isn’t quite your thing there are plenty of traditional Welsh recipies you can whip up in no time like a lamb roast, cawl (stew) or Bara Brith (speckled bread), and have a proper Welsh dinner with family or friends to mark the day. There are plenty of recipes to be found and Littlewoods stock every piece of cookware you need to become a true Welsh domestic goddess.
The point is pretty clear – think yellow, Welsh, yellow this Friday.
