You can’t deny that 2012 is the year of celebration for many reasons; the Jubilee, the Olympics… Littlewoods’ 80th Birthday. Yes that’s right, we’ve been going strong for 80 years now and we’re very proud and excited to be celebrating our big birthday in September.
Throughout our 80 years we’ve been known for our catalogues, which are still a huge part of Littlewoods today, and with cover girls over the years including stars such as Joan Collins and Jerry Hall it seemed fitting to look back at how our catalogue covers have changed over the decades as part of our celebrations.
And what better way to do it than by replicating past covers with our fabulous style icon Coleen Rooney and a photoshoot with legendary photographer Terry O’Neill. Even in turtle necks and 90’s prom dresses Coleen manages to look super stylish – here’s a look at some of our favourites…

- 1940s
Pulling off lady-like stripes and a cinced in waist in this sepia toned cover from 1947.

- 1950s
In forever-fashionable red, striking a pose with a very Queen like wave! This is the cover from 1955.

- 1970s
We’re not sure this hat will be back on our fashion radar anytime soon, but again Coleen manages to pull it off in this replica from 1971.

1990s
Heavy backcombing and a killer prom dress create the perfect 90’s cover look.

2000s
What a difference a decade makes! Softer hair and make up, chunky knitwear – this was Littlewoods in 2004.
