New year, new gear for the kids

New year, new gear for the kids

After the wrapping paper has been put away, the toys and gadgets given their batteries, the final sprout digested and the final few relatives escorted off the premises, we can breathe a (small) sigh of relief – even the kids will be going back to school soon! If the kids didn’t get any new gear in their stockings from Father Christmas, now’s a great time to kit them out with some new clothes in preparation for next term’s round of afterschool activities, cinema trips and visiting friends.

80s inspired tees work well with comfy jeggings

Choosing great clothes for girls can sometimes be a bit tricky, but at Littlewoods we’ve got a fantastic range of practical but super-fashionable girls’ clothing that’ll look good whatever the occasion. The Freespirit Jeggings (2 pack) offer great value for money and are a comfortable alternative to jeans. Pair them with a loose, 80s-inspired tee, like the cropped Freespirit Heart Short Sleeve Sweat Top or the Freespirit Take A Picture T-shirt with a funky camera print to the front. We also love the Freespirit Ditsy Floral Chain Belt that adds a feminine touch and would look equally as cute with a flowery tea dress for summer. January still means cold weather, so wrap her up warm in the relaxed Freespirit Hooded Boyfriend Cardigan in a choice of juicy pink, yellow or cool grey marl, and the Freespirit Padded Jacket with Faux Fur Hood – we love it in pink when teamed with matching Converse All Star Hi Junior Plimsolls! You can also get more inspiration for gorgeous pink outfits from our Pretty in Pink trend.

Mix and match items for a on-trend boys look

Our range of boys’ clothing at Littlewoods means that whatever your lad’s style, there’ll be something to suit him. A pair of Converse All Star Hi Junior Plimsolls in go-with-anything black, paired with some cool new jeans – like the Demo Curved Leg Jeans – is a great base for trendy tshirts and formal shirts. We really like the big pockets and stitched detail of these jeans that sets them apart from the rest. For a smart wardrobe that can just as equally be dressed down, we’ve chosen four mix and match items for boys that will look good with jeans at the weekend as well as on more formal occasions. The Demo Striped T-shirt gives a cool pop of colour to denim, especially when teamed with the Demo Hooded Zip Through Sweat Top with its trendy grey, white and yellow colour blocks. This hoodie also looks cool with the Ben Sherman Boys Check Shirt in classic red, white and blue check. Take inspiration from our Preppy Cool trend and wear the shirt buttoned up with the Demo Padded Jacket for a mod-inspired look: those Converse we mentioned earlier would look brilliant with this outfit!

Next term, the kids are sure to look super cool with our range of children’s clothing – now to just get them organised!
