Perfect Party Looks

Perfect Party Looks

Caramel tones and lush textures create a glamorous look

Getting the perfect party look for the winter season is as essential as fireworks on Bonfire night or mince pies at Christmas! There’s no better time than the party season to experiment with the newest trends, so we put our heads together and came up with some great party looks that work some of the hottest trends this AW 2011: you can see them all in our fab New Things mag too!

Party season always means sparkle, but this year that’s been vamped up with soft, colourful furs and the animal print of the moment, snakeskin. The summer seventies trend is also continuing through the winter months, but a little more pared down and sophisticated. Going for all out glamour without looking like you’ve tried to hard can be a tricky one, so if you want to stay on the safe side, opt for neutral, golden tones and keep the trends to one or two statement pieces. The Love Label Slinky Maxi Split Dress is a flattering dress that looks relaxed yet glamourous, with a distinct seventies vibe. We’ve paired it with these KG Juliet Ruched Suede Sandals in similar tones for a sophisticated look. Tap into the snakeskin trend with the soft Modalu Leather Snakeskin Tote in a lush nougat colour for a modern update on a classic design (and which won’t look out of place at work!). Our finishing touch on this gorgeous outfit is a statement fur coat, the South Faux Fox Fur Coat. With its warm tones and ruffled texture, this coat is stylish and evocative of old school Hollywood glamour. With these picks, you wouldn’t look out of place on the red carpet!

Jewel-toned sophistication, perfect for cocktails

Staying with a seventies theme, we’ve taken the latest fashion must-have item – the jumpsuit – and made it even more stylish for this party season! This slinky black Oasis Jumpsuit is a fantastic addition to your wardrobe, as it suits a host of body shapes thanks to its tailored style. Although you could wear it with flats for a less formal occasion, we’ve teamed ours with statement heels and bag for a show-stopping party look. Jewel tones are a big hit this season, so the Love Label Honolulu Purple Snake Platform Shoes are ideal, adding extra height and a beautiful snakeskin texture in amethyst tones. A sequinned clutch bag completes the outfit: the Irregular Choice Flick Flack Clutch Bag is a great way to inject sparkle and colour into an outfit in a fashionable, wearable way. Jewel tones and a slinky silhouette make this outfit perfect for cocktail parties, or even just after-work drinks.

For those who really love to be the centre of attention during party season, going for all-out glamour is sure to keep all eyes on you! Our glittering gold Sequin Scoop Back Dress is the ultimate in party power: combine a mini dress with all over sequins, scoop back and streamlined shape, and this is sure to turn heads. Black and gold is a classic combination, so we’ve gone for the super-sexy Love Label Arizona Jacquard Corsage Sandals, whose stacked platforms and frothy corsage detail add height and a hint of femininity. Androgyny was another big trend this season, so for the ultimate in cool contrast, wear this spectacular look with the South Tuxedo Jacket. A great staple that looks good with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses, this jacket adds a final masculine edge to a sparkling party outfit!
