Get Victoria Beckham’s award winning look

When the news came out that Victoria Beckham had won the coveted British Desiger Brand of the Year Award at this year’s British Fashion Awards, most of the talk was centred around her tearful acceptance speech (click here to watch her speech on You Tube). And we can see why, she’s not exactly known for her public displays of emotion, but the talking point here at Littlewoods HQ was less about the tears and more about the look, as it’s fair to say she couldn’t have picked a better time to look her most stylish, stunning best.

From head to toe the look was sleek, chic and classic; ok, head to toe black might not be ground breaking but you should never underestimate a fabulous black dress, especially not one that manages to add curves up top, highlight a super slim waist and make your legs look about 10 feet long. Which is exactly what VB’s dress did for her.

Obviously we’re not all lucky enough to own one of Victoria’s creations, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get the look with something more in our price range, and all you need is a glam black maxi dress and some simple accessories.  This Amanda Wakely dress can create the curves thanks to the layered top, the fitted bodice and the full length skirt. Team with some black glitter heels to pick out the bead detail in the dress and carry a matching clutch bag to keep the whole look simple and oh-so-stylish.

Finish the look with a chic up do and smokey eyes, and while you might not be accepting any awards you’ll certainly nail the look of an award winning style icon, and isn’t that the look we’re all going for when we’re getting ready for a night out?!
