I have just got my youngest off to school and my eldest into a special school for autistic children after 18 months of fighting – it is time for me to get back to some artwork, something which has been on hold for a number of years now. I need to get back in touch with my creative side and this would perfectly enable me to do so :)

  18. Posted by Vanya Pierre-Louis on November 11, 2011

Painting was a saving grace for me back in 2009 when I had a bad split from my son’s father. I’ve always liked painting and drawing since I was a child but stopped because it was a bit expensive and we just couldn’t afford it. I started again in 2009 to escape the abuse of my relationship and have been painting again since then with two of my work subsequently being chosen and displayed at two separate exhibitions held by the RBSA in Birmingham. I would love to be able to win this because art is my life but as I said, it can be quite expensive and so at times I do not paint because I am unable to afford to do so.
