Day 4
I had been looking forward to wearing the Nougat waterfall cardigan since I got it. Out of all of the eight pieces I was given at the start of the week, this is really the only one I would have considered buying for myself before I was asked to do the Challenge. I love grey and I like wearing cardigans, so the colour and style of this one was right up my street.
If I had any concerns it was that it looked like quite a heavy knit so I wasn’t convinced it was an item I’d get lots of wear out of, maybe it would be quite limited to the Winter. But the weather wasn’t great today so it didn’t feel weird putting on a cardigan, and I was looking forward to giving this one a go!
And I wasn’t disappointed, it’s so comfortable and cosy and I got loads of compliments on it – the waterfall makes it a real statement piece so there’s no need to think too much about the rest of the outfit, which makes it a really easy one to throw on when you haven’t got much time to plan an outfit. It is a lovely quality knit and while I do think I’d get most wear out of it when the weather’s colder, it’s actually ideal for layering over t-shirts and vests during the Spring and Autumn (wearing it in high Summer might be pushing it a bit!) I certainly felt comfortable in it and I know it would become of my go-to pieces that I could easily wear every day, and take with me even if I wasn’t wearing it ‘just in case’!
I really wanted to wear light colours with this cardigan to keep the outfit bright and fresh (it is still August after all!) so I wore my own white jeans which are by South and are one of my most-worn items during the summer – they just go with everything and are a lovely alternative to blue denim. And I love wearing neutral colours, I think they look sophisticated and can be so easily mixed and matched, so this cardigan fitted in really well with a lot of clothes I already have in my wardrobe.
I was going to wear the Dune ballerina pumps again today but I decided to keep it a bit more summery by putting on some tan peep toes (another investment I’d definitely recommend – tan shoes are ridiculously versatile!) I finished off the look with a light stripe scarf to tie in the grey shades, but I have to say that I really think the cardigan made this outfit and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough!
