Warming Winter Woolies for Women

Warming Winter Woolies for Women

With the snow bringing the UK to a near standstill in recent weeks, with cars stranded, aeroplanes grounded and people everywhere donning their hiking boots and wellies – it’s hard to have missed that winter has well and truly arrived!

But when the snow is falling, all we want to do is stay inside curled up in a big cosy jumper, bed socks and a huge mug of creamy hot chocolate – but if you want to stay cosy and still look good, here are our top picks of winter woollies.

The key to any winter look that is a) warm and b) looks effortless is of course layering. Layering up means that you’ll keep nice and toasty but if you get too warm you can just take off a layer to cool down.

After a couple of base layers of cami tops and sheer long sleeved pieces, you’ll want to get onto the real cosy stuff. Cardigans are a great over layer and are so versatile and, not only that, but they are perfect for wrapping snugly around you when you feel the chill. For a longer length try a boyfriend cardigan or a waterfall cardigan.

Of course, in winter you just can’t beat a really chunky knitted jumper or cardi to wrap up in – and as always for this time of year, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Whether you want to throw on a cable knit jumper or quite literally wrap yourself up in a wrap there are plenty of options.

If you want to be right on trend though you’ll want to be looking for fairisle prints for your Christmas season – you’ll certainly look very festive. I love this fairisle cardigan from South with its splash of Christmassy colour.

Or if you’re after something a little different why not team a snug fitted jumper with a floaty skirt for a 1950s style look, or feel comfy at Christmas in a cute and cosy knitted dress – team with leggings and shearling boots for a true winter look!
