Top Compact Camera for your Holiday Snaps

Top Compact Camera for your Holiday Snaps

When it comes to holidays there is loads to think about when it comes to packing and that’s all very well and good but one thing that you will definitely need to pack is a camera. Not only will you be able to take some great snaps but it means that years afterwards when your memory has faded a bit, all you need to do is look at your pics to be transported back to the sunshine!

Seeing as you will probably be carrying it around quite a lot you don’t really need something bulky – just something small and simple which takes great quality photos.

Here at Littlewoods.com there’s loads of choice but luckily customers have rated these cameras so that you can get an idea of what they are like to use and here are a few of the top rated compact cameras that would be perfect for your holiday snaps.

Panasonic Lumix TZ6

This is the top rated compact camera and although it’s compact – it definitely packs a punch. The Lumix features 12x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom and has a 2.7” LCD screen so you can line up all your shots. You are guaranteed to get great quality pictures with a 10.1 megapixel resolution. You can also take short videos and the battery is long lasting so no need to worry about it running out whilst you’re out and about!

Sony DSC-W210

This compact Sony camera is packed full of nifty features like steady shot (to balance out camera shakes), Intelligent Scene Recognition will automatically adjust the camera settings to take the best picture, Smile Shutter will take the picture automatically when someone smiles and it has Enhanced Face Detection which adjusts the settings to give you the most natural results. There’s 4x optical zoom and 8x digital zoom on this 12.1 megapixel camera and if that weren’t enough – it comes in silver and black too!

Nikon Coolpix S220

The Nikon SS20 is ultra slim so it’s definitely a good choice if it’s got to fit in a small handbag or pocket. Luckily its small size doesn’t mean that you get any less features and there are some clever modes that will optimise the camera settings so that you get the best possible picture including Scene Auto Selector, Smile mode (which takes the picture when your subject smiles) and Blink Proof mode (which will take two images and select the one where your subject is not blinking!). The S220 has 3x optical zoom, a 2.5” LCD screen and 10 megapixels.

Canon Ixus 95 IS

The Canon Ixus 95 is one of the top rated Canon cameras here at Littlewoods.com and packs a lot of features into its small frame including a  10 megapixel resolution, 3x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom, 2.5” LCD screen as well as smart shooting modes including scene detection technology, anti-blue and motion detection technology.

Why Nikon d3100 is body only ? Checked with Nikon UK and it is specified as a KIT 18-55 VR. Also, the site description of this DSLR unit doesn’t clarify if IT comes WITH or WITHOUT 18-55 VR kit… mis-selling ? or what !?
